The Niacin are a humanoid species native to the planet Niacin.
When the Terran Federation first contacted them, they were suffering from a debilitating genetic disease which threatened their culture. Thousands of healthy individuals escaped to Terran Federation space hoping to benefit from their Genetic engineering technology. While the first generation was unsuccessful in treatment, new generations were cured of the disease. Currently, groups of Niacin are paying private human companies for cures for their genetic disease.
